Location: Anniston Army Depot, approximately 15,605 acres, is located west of Anniston, Alabama in Calhoun County.

Brief History: The initial mission for the U.S. Army Depot at Anniston was munitions storage. During World War II, the mission of the depot was expanded to include a combat equipment storage area. The maintenance and storage of chemical munitions began in 1963 and will continue until all of the munitions are disposed of in accordance with the Chemical Weapons Convention.
