Location: MCLB Albany is located in Southern Georgia, approximately 180 miles south of Atlanta, 250 miles southwest of Savannah, and 100 miles north of Tallahassee, Florida.

Brief History: Marine Corps Logistics Base (MCLB), Albany was commissioned in March of 1952 as the Marine Corps Depot of Supplies. In 1967 the Center became a Storage Activity and Depot Maintenance Activity. The Marine Corps Logistics Base, Albany has had many different names: Marine Corps Supply Depot (1952); Marine Corps Supply Center (1954); and Marine Corps Logistics Support Base, Atlantic (1976). It was given its current name in 1978, but throughout its life, its mission has been to provide a myriad of supply-related functions for Marines both at home and abroad. MCLB Albany provides, procures, maintains, repairs, stores, and distributes supplies, services, and equipment as needed to support operating forces.

Range / Site Description: MCLB Albany has 4.41 acres dedicated to shotgun and pistol qualification training. This small arms range is the only training range on the base. According to the Archives Search Report, the range dates back to 1953 when the range consisted of five bobbing and weaving targets and six stationary targets A skeet range also exists next to the pistol range.
