Munitions Response Geophysicist/Environmental Geologist
CH2M Hill's Munitions Response (MR) Market Segment is seeking an experienced, technically-sound MR Geophysicist to support current and future MR projects. This position requires knowledge of site investigation and remedial approaches for Munitions and Explosives of Concern (MEC). Specifically, this position involves delivering high quality products to our DOD and commercial clients. Day to day responsibilities may include analyzing or reviewing geophysical data in Osasis Montaj (Geosoft), preparing site investigation work plans, geophysical investigation plans, review and preparation of geophysical subcontractor procurements, review of geophysical subcontractor proposals, interacting with internal team players, and oversight of subcontractor field activities.
Additional tasks related to MR projects will include ensuring quality of work products, ensuring project consistency, ensuring safety of staff, coordinating with contractors and internal support staff, and communicating with the project manager.
This individual has overall responsibility for design, implementation, and management of geophysical investigations required for the work effort. It is expected that the individual will be on-site as projects dictate. All candidates must be able to supervise all contractor on-site MEC geophysical activities. Knowledge of CERCLA and RCRA regulatory processes and experience conducting environmental sampling (groundwater, soils, well installation, etc.) a plus.
The preferred office location for this position is Huntsville, AL, Virginia Beach, VA, or Raleigh, NC, but location is negotiable.
Qualified candidates will have an undergraduate degree in geophysics, geology, geological engineering, or a closely related field with a minimum of 3 years of MR related geophysical experience. Masters degree in preferred, along with 5 years of MR experience.
