Two Men Detained For Questioning in UXO Scrap Metal Recycling Incident

Raleigh, North Carolina Two men have been detained for questioning in connection to the explosive incident that occurred at the Raleigh Scrap Metal Recycling Plant (see UXOInfo.com article posted 13 February). The men were detained after a search of their mobile home and surrounding property resulted in two live projectiles being recovered. Munitions debris was also recovered from their property as well.

Authorities conducted the search of the property after the owner of the scrap metal recycling facility provided information in connection with the explosive incident that occurred when workers were processing scrap metal at the facility.

The identities of the two men have not been released at this time but Customs and Immigration officials are reportedly involved. The FBI and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are also involved in the extensive investigation.
