Tens Find WWII Era Hand Grenade While Four Wheeling
Gypsum, Colorado Two teenage boys out four-wheeling came across a WWII era hand grenade. The teens made the un-wise decision to bring the grenade home with them. One of teens showed it to his father who made the wise decision to immediately call the police.
The Eagle police department responded to the call and transported the grenade to a nearby shooting range where bomb disposal technicians safely detonated the item. Authorities have not released the exact location where the grenade was found until they complete an investigation of the area to determine if the potential exist for additional UXO. Authorities will also try to determine how the grenade ended up in the area and if it was discarded in the area, determining who may be responsible.
