UXO Technician Levels I, II, and III Needed
UXO Technician I's, II's and III's needed to fill upcoming projects in New York
CAPE, Inc. (CAPE) is an ENGINEERING/CONSTRUCTION/ENVIRONMENTAL firm dedicated to providing cost-effective, quality, turnkey services within these primary areas:
- Civil and environmental engineering
- Remediation
- Operations and Maintenance
- Facility construction and demolition

These positions will inspect expended ordnance, ordnance related residue and bombing range residue to verify the presence or absence of energetic materials during movement and segregation of expended ordnance and bombing range target scrap. Other duties may include operate handheld radiation detection instruments to screen range residue for low-level radioactive waste items and conducting explosive demolition of MEC/UXO items recovered.
All candidates must have the ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. Must pass standard CAPE background and drug screens and have the ability to use safety equipment as required. Must pass a standard CAPE pre-employment physical examination or must have passed a physical within the last 12 months and be able to provide a valid copy of work clearance letter. Candidates must possess valid eligibility documentation for work on U.S. military installations.
UXO Tech I - 2 yrs general UXO experience. Education & Training Reqs: Graduate of US Army Bomb Disposal School. Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD or US Naval EOD School, Indian Head, MD, or Texas A&M UXO Technician I course. 40-hour HAZWOPER plus current 8-hour refresher. Must be able to fully perform all functions enumerated for UXO Technician I as defined in DDESB TP-18 - Minimum Qualifications for UXO Technicians.
UXO Tech II - 5 yrs combined military and civilian EOD field experience in UXO remediation and range clearance. Education & Training Requirements: Graduate of US Army Bomb Disposal School. Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD or US Naval EOD School, Indian Head, MD, 40-hour HAZWOPER plus current 8-hour refresher. Must be able to fully perform all functions enumerated for UXO Technician II as defined in DDESB TP-18 - Minimum Qualifications for UXO Technicians.
UXO Tech III - 10 years combined military and civilian EOD field experience in UXO remediation and range clearance. 5 years experience in supervisory positions. Education & Training Requirements: Graduate of US Army Bomb Disposal School. Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD or US Naval EOD School, Indian Head, MD, 40-hour HAZWOPER plus current 8-hour refresher. Must be able to fully perform all functions enumerated for UXO Technician III as defined in DDESB TP-18 - Minimum Qualifications for UXO Technicians. Candidates must possess valid eligibility documentation for entry and work on U.S. military installations.
