Auction House Almost Sells Suitcase of Explosives

Mayflower, Arkansas Going, Going, Almost Gone Auctioneers conducting an estate sale at the house of a Navy veteran who recently passed away almost sold a suitcase full of explosives. The rusted padlocked suitcase was sitting in the lawn next to other household goods to be auctioned off. However, just before the auction started, workers forced the lock on the suitcase open revealing its explosive contents in the process.

The old suitcase reportedly contained three blocks of C-4 plastic explosive, a blasting cap and some dynamite. The Auctioneers called 911 and a local bomb squad responded to the call. The bomb squad estimated that the military grade explosives were approximately 15 years old. The explosives were safely transported from the residence and taken to a range where they were properly and safely disposed of without incident.
