British EOD Technician killed During IED Response

Afghanistan The United Kingdom's Ministry of Defence announced that one of their EOD Technicians died when an IED his team was responding to exploded. The technician was assigned to the Joint Force EOD Group. A second technician was injured during the explosion. Details of the incident including the names of EOD Technicians involved have not been released.

UXOInfo.com's Gravatar The MOD released the name of the EOD Technician killed while responding to an IED in Afghanistan. Captain Daniel Shepherd, 28, from the 11th EOD Regiment of the Royal Logistic Corps, and assigned to the Joint Force EOD Group when the incident occurred. Daniel was a highly decorated EOD hero who was presented with several awards in his career including being selected by the Royal Logistic Corps as the most outstanding young officer of the year in 2006.
