Marine EOD Technician Killed From IED

Helmand Province, Afghanistan Staff Sergeant Jordan Emrick was killed when he reportedly stepped on a concealed IED. Emrick, who was 26 years old served with the 1st EOD Company, 7th Engineer Support Battalion, 1st Marine Logistics Group based at Camp Pendleton, California. He joined the Marines in 2002 immediately after graduating from high school. In addition to his tour of duty in Afghanistan, Emrick earlier served in Iraq. He is survived by his parents who currently live in Lexington, Kentucky.
