Female British EOD Officer Killed From IED

Helmand province, Afghanistan Captain Lisa Jade Head assigned to the 11th EOD Regiment, Royal Logistics Corps died of injuries sustained from an IED explosion. The 29-year-old, of Huddersfield, West Yorkshire previously served in Iraq in 2006 and Afghanistan in 2007. Her current tour in Afghanistan began less than a month ago. Captain Head is only the second female member of the UK armed forces to die in Afghanistan in nearly a decade.
