Army EOD Technician Killed in Combat

Logar province, Afghanistan Army EOD Staff Sgt. Michael J. Garcia died from injuries suffered during an attack on his unit in Afghanistan. The 27-year old was assigned to the 63rd Ordnance Battalion, 52nd Ordnance Group EOD, 20th Support Command (CBRNE) based out of Fort Polk.

Reportedly his unit was attacked by insurgents using an IED and Garcia died as a result of wounds suffered during the attack. Garcia from Bossier City, LA was less than a month away from his 28th birthday at the time of his death.
