Two Navy EOD Technicians Among the Victims of Helicopter Crash

Tangi Valley, Afghanistan Two Navy EOD Technicians, Senior Chief Petty Officer Kraig Vickers, 36 and Chief Petty Officer Nicholas H. Null, 30 were among the 30 American Service members killed when their Chinook helicopter was shot down. The incident was largest loss of life in a single day during the decade-long war.

Kraig is survived by his wife and three children, parents, and four siblings. He and his family lived in Virginia Beach, Va. He grew up in Hawaii and trained to be an EOD technician in the late 1990s.

Null is survived by his wife Tanya and three children. He and his family lived in of Washington, W.Va.

Seven Afghan commandos and an interpreter also died.
