What's Worse Than a Pothole in the Street...?

San Diego, California A pedestrian found and picked up a UXO on 14th Street in San Diego. The 40 mm round was then presented to a parking enforcement officer, according to police. The result was a scare which prompted a shutdown of several city blocks while a bomb squad responded to remove the ordnance.

The item was determined to be live and was turned over to officials at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar. No word as to how the munition came to be lying on the street.
