Canadian Hikers Encounter Live Mortar

Vernon, BC, Canada Hikers in Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park found a suspicious device, prompting the response of an EOD team from CFB Esquimault under the direction the Joint Task Force (Pacific). "The EOD team found one live mortar round, and although it was live, it was deemed safe to handle and was transported by the EDO team to another location to be safely disposed of," said Lt.
