Bomb Squad Responds to Reports of UXO at Home of Known Felon

Tuscola, Michigan The Tuscola County Sheriff's Department and Michigan State Police (MSP) bomb squad responded to the home of a known felon after reports that the man living there was removing multiple firearms from the residence after a housefire.

According to the Tuscola County Sheriff's Office, when the deputies arrived, the man admitted he had been moving the firearms out of the home and consented to a search. Deputies discovered hundreds of rounds of ammunition and one UXO.

The bomb squad determined the ordnance was a 40 mm round. The MSP seized the ordnance for further examination.

Police reports indicate that deputies released the man and turned over the case to the Tuscola County probation department.
