Alert Issued After Suspected Shell Found on Beach

St. Agnes, United Kingdom Coastguard officials were alerted by lifeguards at Trevaunance Cove, a beach near St. Agnes, after a suspected UXO was discovered. EOD was notified and a cordon was established around the device.

A spokesperson for the Maritime and Coastguard Agency said, "A safety cordon was put in place and the suspected ordnance was covered by the tide. Safety patrols are continuing today to locate and safely remove the item."

The agency also advised citizens that if they see an object they suspect could be UXO, they should not touch or move it but should call 999 and ask for the coastguard.
