Stokes Mortar Discovered At Construction Site

Vancouver, Washington Vancouver Police were called to a construction site at Pearson Airfield after an archaeologist unearthed what appeared to be an unexploded WWI Stokes mortar.

The police department's Mobile Explosive Device Unit and personnel from U.S. Air Force EOD were called in to safely dispose of the mortar. Vancouver Police said the teams also "found and safely donated several more" ordnance during construction.
