Warning to UK Beachgoers After Ordnance Found
Millom, England A Millom Coastguard Rescue Team responded after a walker discovered a potential explosive device on a Cumbrian beach.
In a statement, the spokesperson for the unit said, "The team attended to scene, met with the first informant, confirmed the location, and positively identified the items as ordnance. "Photographs and description were passed to explosive ordnance disposal for further action."
The spokesperson also reminded beachgoers to report any suspicious, ordnance-like items by calling 999. "Ordnance comes in different shapes and sizes, so anything untoward could be highly dangerous. Do what we do and leave it to the experts."
