Description:
Bomb Dummy Unit (BDU-48) is airdropped, impact-inertia-fired signal-generating practice bombs (simulating Mk 82 retarded) used to train aircrews in the bombing of surface targets. The bombs are made of steel. The bomb by itself contains no hazardous components. Hazardous components are contained in the signal cartridge, spotting charge, and the fuze.
