| The bombs, AN-M88, (220-lbs), and AN-M81 (260-lbs) are constructed of nose and tailpieces of cast steel which screw onto a central section of seamless steel tubing. A square helical steel spring is wound around the steel tubing. The nose and tailpieces are partially cut through to afford greater fragmentation. The AN-M88 differs from AN-M81 only in that it has a 0.75-inch steel coil around the body instead of the one-inch coil. |
