Description:
The bomb was an aerial bomb that was fin-stabilized and cylindrical in shape with an ogive nose and conical tail. The body of the bomb was a one-piece, cast steel construction with a burster well extending the entire length of the bomb. The burster well was threaded at the forward end to receive the nose fuze and at the aft end to receive the adapter booster and tail fuze. The bomb is similar in outside appearance to the M64 General Purpose Bomb. The primary visible difference is the presence of a 1.25 inch filling hole closed by a soft iron gasket and closure plug and an M1 needle valve. Normal color coding is gray with green markings and a single green band at the nose, one around the center of the bomb, and one around the tail section. It may be filled with agent CG (Phosgene), CK (Cyanogen Chloride), or AC (Hydrogen Cyanide). It may have also been filled with CC, which is a variation of agent CG
