| This World War I bomb was made up of a number of rings which Ht over a tube approximately 10 inches long, These rings were held together by nose and rear castings or forgings which were screwed to the tube over which the rings are assembled. By properly diniensioning the rings, a uniform effective fragmentation was obtained, The bomb was used against personnel targets; trench straiing, gun crews and exposed personnel on decks of ships. |
