1942 - 1946 Camp Crowder operated as a Signal Corps Replacement Training Center. Three gas chambers were built and used to train troops in the identification of war gases (tear gas and CAIS). This is the only CWM known to be used at Camp Crowder.

1946 - 1951 Camp Crowder was deactivated.

1953 - 1958 Camp Crowder was reactivated as an Army Reception Center for the Korean conflict and re-designated as a U.S. Branch Disciplinary Barracks.

1940s - 1970s The majority of land was excessed at various times. Currently, Camp Crowder consists of approximately 4,300 acres. It is owned by the Army and licensed to the State of Missouri for training by Missouri Army National Guard and other units. National Guard Bureau (NGB) is conducting the Installation Restoration Program (IRP) on the current Camp Crowder property. The Corps of Engineers FUDS Program is responsible for the excessed property.
