Location: The Navy's Boardman bombing range is located 5.5 miles south of Boardman, Oregon.

Brief History: From 1941 to 1945, the U.S. Army Air Corps used a large area for precision bombing practice. The Air Force then took over the range and used it for bombing practice from 1948 to 1960. Department of Defense (DOD) improvements to the site consisted of approximately 20 buildings, a flight strip, gunnery range, and five target sites. The Air Force declared the entire site in excess in 1960, and transferred the eastern half of the range to the Department of Navy for use as a practice bombing range which is the subject of this entry in the database. The former Air Force portion of that was not transferred to the Navy changed ownership over the years and is now in the USACE FUDS program.
