Location: Idaho Falls Training Site is located in east-central Idaho approximately six miles northwest of Idaho Falls in Bonneville County, Idaho.

Brief History: The State of Idaho Military Division obtained use of the Idaho Falls Training Site by presidential executive order. This property remains public land but has been removed from the public domain for use by the Idaho Army National Guard (ARNG) and is administered by the Bureau of Land Management. The primary mission of Idaho Falls Training Site is to serve as a training area for the ARNG.

Range / Site Description:

Two types of training activities are authorized at Idaho Falls Training Site: live-fire weapons training (on four small arms ranges and a medium caliber range) and heavy maneuver/training exercises (on one maneuver/training area). Idaho Falls Training Site has limited training opportunities for units and has not been used since approximately 1994. The site historically was used primarily during training weekends and, occasionally, for extended periods. Currently, the site is undeveloped, but trespassers use it periodically for small arms target practice.
