Pokemon Go? UXO No! - State Department Issues Warning to Players

The U.S. State Department tweeted out an important message for fans of Pokémon Go in Southeast Asia. The department's Political-Military Affairs Bureau made a public appeal about landmines to fans of the popular app in Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam to watch out for UXO.

The tweet read, "Playing #PokemonGo in #Cambodia #Laos #Vietnam? Beware of #landmines or anything that looks like an old bomb! #UXO" Landmines planted in the area decades ago kill and injure hundreds of people across Southeast Asia every year. Roughly one-fifth of Vietnam is estimated to contain mines or other potentially deadly UXO.
