Munition item Found at Salvage Yard

Oskaloosa, Iowa Employees of the Sargo And Son salvage yard called police when the found a munition item in the scrap metal recycling yard. The Oskaloosa Fire and Police Departments responded and quickly evacuated the area. The Iowa State Fire Marshal's Office responded to provide technical assistance. The responders identified the munition item in question as an inert 3.5" rocket. Although the rocket was determined to be inert, Authorities are conducting an investigation to determine the source of the rocket to determine if the potential exist for additional munition items.
