One Dead From Explosion at Munitions Plant

Oakland, Tennessee An explosion and fire at the Kinematics Research Facility claimed the life of a 34-year old worker. Four others who were in the building at the time of the blast escaped without injury. The exact type of munitions or explosives involved in the accident have not been released but first responders did report hearing multiple detonations described as 'popping like popcorn'.

The name of the deceased has not yet been released. The cause of the incident is under investigation.
