Teen Carries Found Munition Item Home

Kauai, Hawaii A teenager walking along the beach came across an encrusted munition item. Curious in his new find, the teen decided to carry the item back to his parent house located in Kapaa. When his parents noticed the item on their porch the following morning, they called the Kaua'i Police Department.

The police responded with technical support from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). The TSA employee confirmed the item was a munition and instructed the police to call EOD. The police then called the EOD team from Schofield Barracks in Honolulu for support. EOD responded and transported the item for proper disposal.
