Pardon the Boom

Valdosta, Georgia Local law enforcement in the Valdosta area have been receiving concerned calls from residents about the ground shaking and photos falling off walls in homes. What may have been mistaken as an earthquake was confirmed by officials at Moody AFB to be scheduled detonations according the following press release:

"The 23d Civil Engineer Squadron Explosives Ordnance Disposal team will clear practice ordnance from target areas at Grand Bay Bombing and Gunnery Range from Oct. 10 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m."

The Grand Bay Bombing and Gunnery Range at the base are used by the military for tactical and ground maneuvers and weapons training.
