Curbside Trash Collection Does Not Include UXO Disposal

London, Ontario An EOD unit from the Canadian Forces was called in by police after a homeowner left a live artillery shell out with the trash. The UXO (pictured below) was found by a local resident who noticed the bomb on his way to a doctor's appointment.

According to the London Police Service (LPS), the munition was live and contained explosives. EOD transported it back to its base, where it was safely destroyed. The local resident who reported the item told police that he believed the shell could have been left behind by the tenants who had recently been evicted.
