UXO Technician I position in the central Florida area - full-time / long-term position with excellent pay and Union benefits.
Requirements: Must be DDESB TP-18 qualified, high school graduate (or equivalent), and a graduate of EOD or civilian UXO school.
Job Description: When directed, or supervised by a UXO-Qualified person assist in: Performing reconnaissance and classification of UXO. Identifying different types of military munitions, to include identifying whether a military munition's fuze is armed or unarmed. Perform location of subsurface UXO using military and/or civilian magnetometers. Assists in performing excavation procedures on buried UXO. Locates surface UXO using visual means. Assists in transporting and storing UXO and demolition materials. Move/consolidate Munitions and Explosives of Concern (MEC) and Material Potentially Presenting an Explosive Hazard (MPPEH) on the range after it has been evaluated by UXO Qualified personnel and the risk of movement to be acceptable. Assists in range clearance activities, range maintenance, and inspection and/or certification of MPPEH and range related debris before being transferred or released from DoD control. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Qualifications and Experience:
All qualified UXO candidates must have an OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification, current 8-hour refresher and OSHA physical.
All projects will require an ATF Explosive Possessor clearance.
Must possess a valid state Driver's License.
Must maintain current CPR/First Aid certification.
Must be able to obtain Navy Qualification/Certification within 90 days of hiring and maintain compliance throughout.
Security clearance may be required.
Strong communication skills required.
