Magnet Fishing Newbie Reels in Old Ordnance

West Country, England A man magnet fishing for the first time was shocked to pull in three old ordnance items from a West Country lake. Apex Park in Highbridge was cordoned off for several hours as police and EOD from Salisbury responded.

The ordnance items were identified as inert training devices and were safely removed for disposal. A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said, "A cordon was put in place in Highbridge following reports of explosive ordnance being found at Apex Park Lake yesterday afternoon. We were called at about 2pm and officers dispatched to the scene. The EOD team was contacted and attended who determined the ordnance was not live and it was subsequently taken away.
