Kindergarten Class Evacuated After Ordnance Find
Darmstadt, Germany Teachers evacuated a kindergarten after spotting an unusual item on one the shelves in a classroom. The police responded along with ordnance experts who identified the item as a WWII era incendiary device.
Reportedly, one of the students found the item in the woods while walking to school and decided to bring it class where it was left on a shelf. A bomb disposal team removed the ordnance for off-site disposal and the children were allowed back into the school. The bomb disposal team also conducted a sweep of the wooded area where the item was found. No other devices were reported.
